Which exam is superior SBI PO Exam or IBPS PO Exam?

The candidates aspiring for officer posts generally apply for two major bank competitive exams and they are SBI PO and IBPS PO exams. 1. Designation-

SBI PO:

In the recruitment drive for SBI PO exam, the Probationary Officer is designated as Junior Management Grade-1 Officer for 2 years of training/probation period.

IBPS PO: 

In the recruitment drive for IBPS PO exam, the Probationary Officer is designated as Officer Scale-1 or Assistant Manager for 2 years of training/probation period.

1. Salary - The revised basic pay of PO is –

23700 – (980 x 7) – 30560 – (1145 x 2) – 32850 – (1310 x 7) – 42020

On January 2016, the applicable revised basic pay of Bank PO was Rs 23,700/-. Hence, the new applicant appointed as Bank PO is liable to get Rs. 23,700 as basic pay. In addition, Bank PO will get an annual increment of Rs 980/- and it will be applicable for a period of 7 years. In SBI, Probationary Officers are paid 4 extra increments at the time of joining.

As per the HRA offered by banks, Bank PO’s can take leased accommodation from the banks’ side. (Ranges may vary from INR 10,000 to INR 29,000 per month). 

2. Perks Offered: Leased Rental Accommodation 

Under HRA policies, the Probationary Officers recruited through these two recruitment drives are given the benefits of the housing facilities by the banks. Under this policy, the banks don’t offer any cash payment but transfer the essential fund for accommodation to the House Owner.

IBPS banks: For IBPS banks PO’s, official Bank Accommodation/Bank Quarter are provided as the leased accommodation.

In SBI: For SBI PO’s, leased accommodation range from INR 8,000/- in ‘C’ category Centers to INR 29,500/- in Mumbai Centre.

3. Perks Offered: Travel Allowances 

SBI PO’s can avail the facility of travelling concessions while travelling across various places within India. Additionally speaking, SBI employees can enjoy the luxuries of bank guest houses available at various places across India.

IBPS PO’s can own their vehicles rather than getting allowances for petrol bills. In addition, they can also avail the luxury of staying at Bank Guest Houses, while visiting various places across India.

4. Medical Benefits

SBI PO’s are offered 100% Medical Facilities and offers around 75% to their family members.

IBPS PO’s are paid an amount of INR 8000 per annum as Medical Aid Facility.

5. IBPS PO exam comprises of Personal Interview (100 marks), while SBI selection round has two more phases and they are Group Discussion (20 marks) and Personal Interview (30 marks).
